I was introduced to CrossFit as a young, 16 year old high school kid who weighed 140 pounds soaking wet.  I needed something to help me stay in shape for basketball, and that would also help me become stronger and more explosive as I transitioned to the varsity level.  I stumbled upon an article in the Salt Lake Tribune about a former University of Utah football player (our beloved coach, Tommy Hackenbruck) who was excelling in this new sport of CrossFit and had opened up a gym in Salt Lake.  After reading the article, I set up an introductory session with Tommy and have been at Ute CrossFit since.

Not only did I love the high intensity and constant variety, but I grew to appreciate the hard work, dedication, and focus that Tommy required of me.  CrossFit dramatically improved my overall fitness, but the mental and emotional maturation that occurred as a result of my affiliation with CrissFit and Ute CrossFit specifically have completely changed my life.

As a trainer, I am thankful for the opportunity to work with an incredible group of people.  I attempt to help our clients by coaching their movement, encouraging them to challenge themselves, and connecting with each on a personal level.  Ute CrossFit has played such an integral part in my development and I hope to assist the development of other members of CrossFit family, as well.
