I am not an athlete and am out of shape. Is CrossFit for me?
Yes! We have members from a variety of different backgrounds – some who have never picked up a barbell and some who played collegiate level sports. That is the great thing about the crossfit community and programming – it will meet and challenge you at whatever level of fitness you are at. There is always room for improvement. We also train you like you are an athlete, and you will be surprised at the things you are able to accomplish after a few months of training with us! Looking good and feeling better is just an added bonus of training hard with Ute CrossFit.
I am already in great shape! Do I need on ramp?
That’s great if you already have a good fitness foundation, but have you been doing kettle bell swings, burpees, and dead lifts on a regular basis? There are foundational movements specific to crossfit that you must learn before you are allowed to jump into our fast paced group classes. Join our On Ramp program any Monday night at 7 or start with personal training to help develop these movements.
However, if you have been crossfiting at a different location for three months or longer you are okay to skip our On Ramp program.
I am from out of town. Do you allow drop-ins?
Yes! Our drop in fee is $20, or $25 with a t-shirt. If you are in town for longer, it is $40 for a week pass with us.
Can I go to any of your locations?
Since both Ute CrossFit locations have separate owners, memberships do not work for both. However, if there is a special case where someone wants to train at both places we may work with you on a case-by-case basis.
Can I bring my kids?
If your children can be left unsupervised they are welcome to play in our kids area located in our east gym. We also offer free day care classes throughout the week so you able to work out worry free! Children are not allowed in the workout area at any time for their safety and the safety of others.
Do you do nutrition consultations?
Yes! If you need some extra help with nutrition or are a committed athlete that wants to take your performance to the next level then feel free to contact Rebecca Ballstaedt, co-owner of Ute CrossFit draper.
At Ute CrossFit we are committed to helping you reach your goals. Unfortunately, exercise can only get you so far in trying to attain these goals! This is why at Ute CrossFit training hard and good nutrition go hand in hand. Our trainers are not only passionate about crossfit and getting you in killer shape, but also about how you are treating your body outside of the gym. We encourage everyone to train smart, clean up their eating habits, and get adequate recovery and sleep. We do gym nutrition and training challenges on a regular basis to keep you accountable and help you reach your goals.
How can I compete in the CrossFit Games?
If you are interested in competing in crossfit as a sport, we have trainers and athletes here that have competed at the highest level. Every year we have sent athletes on to compete in the CrossFit Games. We would be happy to talk with you more about training with us for the games.
I don’t want to lift weights. Won’t I bulk up and loose flexibility?
No! Crossfit will not make you big and bulky. This is a common misconception despite the surplus of information that points to the contrary. Talk to any of our members or do some of your own research and you will see success story after success story of people getting in great shape, gaining lean mass, and losing weight – while not looking like body builders!
